Hello, Dirk,
It occured to me that perhaps the best way to get the design work communicated to you is by giving you one place to go to with thoughts and examples.
The first thing I want to communicate is that design is a conversation; we need to discuss this back and forth so we can ensure we’re at a common frame of understanding.
Next, some general framework:
-You said you want minimal type
-Also, that you want to rely on the photos shot
-You want 16 pages which is a Cover + 12 page body.
CHOICES
While printing on an uncoated natural (almost ivory) paper would have been my first move, I think it’s wise to see what peers and competition are doing and move in another direction that still serves the brand. Hence, I’m suggesting an Uncoated Cover with Coated Satin interior pages.
Coated paper holds fine resolution better in printing and has more saturated and pleasing color. Please see the examples below.

COVER
On the Cover, we discussed gold foil. I think we can get stronger impact with a different choice.
Clear Foil adds a sheen and gloss to uncoated paper that is sophisticated and powerful yet understated. Printing a soft ‘shadow’ around the type that is clear foiled is my recommendation. Sample below:

QUOTES
I selected or wrote only a couple things in the booklet. But I think if we had a strong quote on the Inside Back Cover, it could make an impression.
I also wonder if we should employ the photo of the bottles. We’ll figure it out when we talk. Which brings me to this:
Please review the two flip books below. One is depicted on white, the other on a ‘natural white’ stock (or what it would look like if we printed a tinted background to make it look so.) Both are the same, but I want you to see the difference and offer your thoughts.
Looking forward to talking. Thanks, Dirk.
