MLK Prayer Breakfast
Created for Urban Impact Seattle, an organization that helps communities thrive by breaking the cycle of social, material and spiritual poverty.
It seems that whenever the name of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. is invoked, there is mention of his powerful “I Have A Dream” speech. Urban Impact took it one step beyond. From Dr. King’s speech:
“…that one day this nation will rise up and live out the true meaning of its creed.”
“…that one day out in the red hills of Georgia that sons of former slaves and the sons of former slaveowners will be able to sit down together at the table of brotherhood.”
“…that one day down in Alabama… little black boys and little black girls will be able to join hands with little white boys and white girls as sisters and brothers.”
These words are as profound today as the day he spoke them. Perhaps more so. Such noble thoughts deserve a dignified representation.
