Gentleman Farmer Wines
Superlatives seem to rule the screens we view; “penultimate” ”amazing” ”best of all time.” It all adds up to us not truly paying heed to these packets of high praise. We become cynical. And that’s not only a bad fashion decision, it rather chips away at our hopefulness.
What does this have to do with Gentleman Farmer Wines and the work we’ve done together? Dollars to donuts (I have always wanted to use that phrase) you, dear reader, have never heard of Gentleman Farmer Wines. There’s a good chance you may never would had you not stumbled across this missive. But that has nothing to do with the fact that their wines are quite good and well worth the prices.
The task was to recast the brand so that tangibles grant a promise as compelling as the contents of the bottle. And great brands are built in collaboration.

Beginnings With the understanding of what we were working to create, we set about reimagining the brand. Having recently assumed full ownership, Joey Wolosz wished to create a more striking and approachable presence that better appealed to the brand aspirations.
Working to fulfill the values and hopes, we worked iteratively until we agreed we’d arrived. We then translated the visual brand to bottle packaging, website and collateral.
Full Circle A few short years after the initial engagement, we were tasked with considering the client experience more fully. With the pandemic in full swing, that is largely online until one receives a shipment.
We rebuilt the online experience that shares more of the heart of the brand – and that makes it easier to secure wine.
We then had the opportunity to guide the experience of receiving one’s shipment of Gentleman Farmer. Capturing the spirit of the brand with a keen eye to treading lightly on the environment, we selected packaging, designed custom tapes, built brand messaging stickers, tissue inserts and brand separator cards.
Wolosz has a phrase: “To open the good stuff for no reason is the reason.” This became the tape that secured shipments.
The welcoming nature Gentleman Farmer flies in the face of what can be a bit of a snobby industry. Hence, the sticker adaptation of the logo that reads: “Your day just got so much better.” tips off the recipient that something good is afoot.
The idea was to present the package a gift rather than a mere shipment. Perhaps the thing that puts a point on things is the personal notecard that instead of ‘Gentleman Farmer’ reads ‘Gentlemen Always Say Thank You.’
GF Brand sticker that appears on each shipment.
Suite of brand insert cards choices shipments.
Branded tissue for wine shipments.
As the notecard says: Gentlemen always say Thank You.
