Showbox 75th Anniversary

After 75 years of being perhaps the most exciting and electric music venue in Seattle, the Showbox wanted to commemorate the pinnacle with a new logo. Being the creator of the prior logo, it was a tremendous honor to be a part of the occasion.  An evolution of their prior logo, the new visual incorporates the 75 year anniversary but can function well without as well.

In the course of the brand refresh, the Showbox rechristened the former Green Room as Kerns Music Shop, the original occupant of the space. Dating back to 1946, the shop was a hub for local musicians which hosted then up and coming musicians whose ranks included Frank Sinatra, Harry James, Sarah Vaughn and Nat King Cole. Evidently, a young Quincy Jones bought his very first horn at Kerns. No doubt a fitting tribute to the musicians and the music that inspired the city and an honor to design the logo for such.
