2015 Holocene Memorialis
A personal project of winemaker Todd Alexander, Holocene is a Pinot Noir sourced from Willamette Valley fruit.
The term “Holocene” refers to the geological epoch that follows the Pleistocene. The name derives from the Greek and denotes the present epoch, encompassing the growth and impact of the human species. The design, like many good ones, is a collaborative effort with the client. It is always good to work with other creators.
“Made by Todd Alexander of Force Majeure, the 2015 Memorialis Pinot Noir comes from marine sedimentary soils and four different clones. Tasted as a barrel sample, it’s a fabulously rich, textured beauty that gives up classic notes of black cherries, forest floor, spring flowers and sweet oak. Possessing fabulous purity, fine tannin and beautiful elegance, it will drink well right out of the gate, yet evolve for over a decade.”
