Phone Etiquette

My niece proved once again recently that she has as much patience as her namesake, my mother. Which would be next to none.

Speaking long distance to her beloved uncle who lives in Hawaii, she rambled on briefly like a nine year old should about all the things she should love and adults generally don’t.

Then suddenly, she stopped short and said,

“Uncle Donnie, somebody else wants to talk to you.”

At which time she took the receiver away from her face, cupped her hand over the mouthpiece and yelled,

“Somebody else!”
